Terri Johns, MCIP, RPP

Terri is a professional urban planner with more than 30 years’ experience in the private sector. She spent most her early career with consulting company May, Pirie, Dakin & Associates in Burlington, Ontario, and then went on to run the Planning and Development division for the Starward Homes group of companies.

Terri founded T. Johns Consulting Group in 2014 and as President, guides the company’s direction.

Terri has built a team of professionals who are not only talented, but very approachable and easy to work with. Her team dynamic is ideal for the work-intensive needs of planning and development projects.

Along with her strong urban planning skills, Terri is an experienced project manager. She is known for her attention to detail and smart problem-solving. Under her guidance, land development and building projects move smoothly and successfully from start to finish – navigating any complex issues that may arise – and delivering strong results for multiple stakeholders.

She has been responsible for numerous large-scale planning projects, including land disposition strategies for Redeemer College in Ancaster, Ontario and the Chedoke Campus of Bay Area Health Trust. She has also obtained development approvals for residential subdivisions and condominiums.

Terri is a proud graduate of two Hamilton educational institutions. She has a diploma from Mohawk College in the Municipal Planning & Development program. While working full-time as a consultant, she also graduated Summa Cum Laude from McMaster University. Terri is a member of the Ontario Professional Planning Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
